1. On Weapons Plutonium in the Arctic Environment (Thule, Greenland)
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns a nuclear accident that occurred in the Thule (Pituffik) area, NW Greenland in 1968, called the Thule accident. Results are based on different analytical techniques, i.e. gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry, ICP-MS, SEM with EDX and different sediment models, i. LÄS MER
2. Inhibition of Calcium and Zinc Absorption by Phytate in Man Methodological Studies and Hydrothermal Processing of Cereals to Improve Absorption
Sammanfattning : A mathematical model based on measurements in a whole-body counter described the retention of calcium in the human body. It was shown that the relative retention of intravenous and orally administered 47Ca in all subjects (n = 10 - 11) were well described by fitting a simple function of time with two free parameters to a few whole-body measurements after day 6, when the unabsorbed calcium had been excreted. 3. Methods for image-based dosimetry and radiobiological modelling in radionuclide therapy
Sammanfattning : In radionuclide therapy (RNT), radioactive pharmaceuticals are administered for therapeutic purposes. Dosimetry, i.e. the estimation of the absorbed dose to various targets, can potentially lead to a better understanding of the therapeutic effects in RNT and allow for individualization of the therapy. 4. Effect of Uncertainty of Rock Properties on Radionuclide Transport by Groundwater : Implications for Performance Assessments of the Repository of Spent Nuclear Fuel in Heterogeneous Bedrock
Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the current study is to develop a quantitative understanding of the effects of spatial variability in physical and geochemical properties of crystalline rock on the migration of radionuclides along a single fracture in bedrock. A stochastic model was developed to describe the transport of solutes in fractured rock. LÄS MER
5. Molecular Radionuclide Imaging Using Site-specifically Labelled Recombinant Affibody Molecules : Preparation and Preclinical Evaluation
Sammanfattning : Radionuclide molecular imaging is an emerging multidisciplinary technique that is used in modern medicine to visualise diseases at cellular and molecular levels. This thesis is based on five papers (I-V) and focuses on the development of site-specific radiolabelled recombinant anti-HER2 Affibody molecules and preclinical evaluations in vitro and in vivo of the labelled conjugates.
