  1. 1. Airway mechanics of mice and men

    Författare :Lennart Lundblad; Malmö Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; tomography; medical instrumentation; Clinical physics; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Penh; emphysema; airway resistance; gas conditioning; plethysmography; lung mechanics; Boyle s law; Physiology; medicinsk instrumentering; Klinisk fysiologi; radiology; enhanced pause; pulmonary fibrosis; micro computed tomography; forced oscillation technique; COPD;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we explore and further develop several techniques used in the animal laboratory as well as in the clinical setting. In particular, we expand the understanding and usefulness of plethysmographic techniques in small rodents. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Dysfunctional but viable myocardium - ischemic heart disease assessed by magnetic resonance imaging and single photon emission computed tomography

    Författare :Martin Ugander; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; medicinsk instrumentering; tomografi; radiologi; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiology; tomography; Clinical physics; non-invasive imaging; myocardial infarction; viability; Physiology; Fysiologi; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Sammanfattning : The assessment of ischemic heart disease (IHD) often focuses on the detection of dysfunctional but viable myocardium which may improve in function following revascularization. Dysfunctional but viable myocardium is identified by distinct characteristics with regards to function, perfusion and viability. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A clinical positron emission tomography facility : 2-¹⁸FDG studies : development and results

    Författare :Tomas G Ohlsson; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiology; Clinical physics; head and neck cancer; monitoring therapy effect; quantification; normalization; 511 keV SPECT; rotating PET scanner; 2-[18-F]FDG; isotope production; 18-F; PET; positron emission tomography; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Fysicumarkivet A:1996:Ohlsson;

    Sammanfattning : Positron emission tomography (PET) is a tracer technique used for quantitative in vivo studies of physiological and biochemical processes. Because of the use of positron-emitting radionuclides such as 11-C, 13-N, 15-O and 18-F, which are isotopes of the biologically ubiquitous elements, it is possible to label radiopharmaceuticals which trace biochemical processes precisely. 4. 4. Myocardial Perfusion and Function: Comparative assessment by ECG, SPECT and MRI

    Författare :Eva Persson; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Physiology; radiologi; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; Clinical physics; ST-segment deviation ; myocardial ischemia ; myocardial perfusion ; MRI; CMR; MPS; ECG; SPECT; Fysiologi; Cardiovascular system; myocardial function ; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Sammanfattning : Evaluation of myocardial perfusion and function is important in management of patients with suspected or known coronary artery disease. This thesis focuses on the use of common diagnostic methods, myocardial perfusion single-photon emission computed tomography (MPS) and electrocardiography (ECG), to enhance and validate the diagnostic information.
