31. Secondary Electromagnetic Radiation Generated by HF Pumping of the Ionosphere
Sammanfattning : Electromagnetic waves can be used to transmit information over long distances and are therefore often employed for communication purposes. The electromagnetic waves are reflected off material objects on their paths and interact with the medium through which they propagate. LÄS MER
32. Predictive and prognostic factors in cervical carcinomas treated with (chemo-) radiotherapy
Sammanfattning : A series of 131 women with cervical carcinoma FIGO stage I-IV were treated with external radiotherapy and intracavitary brachytherapy. In 47 patients (36%) concomitant chemotherapy was given. One hundred and twenty-one tumors (92%) achieved complete remission. Addition of chemotherapy increased primary cure rate to 98%. LÄS MER
33. Characterization and Compensation of Hardware Impairments in Transmitters for Wireless Communications
Sammanfattning : Increasing demands for data rate, energy efficiency and reliability in wireless communications have resulted in the introduction of radio frequency (RF) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmitters. However, MIMO transmitters suffer from additional crosstalk impairments along with the power amplifier (PA) and I/Q imbalance distortions observed in single input single output (SISO) transmitters. 34. Antenna array mapping for DOA estimation in radio signal reconnaissance
Sammanfattning : To counter radio signal reconnaissance, an efficient way of covert communication is to use subsecond duration burst transmissions in the congested HF band. Against this background, the present thesis treats fast direction finding (DF) using antenna arrays with known response only in a few calibration directions. LÄS MER
35. Towards intuitive interfaces
Sammanfattning : Operators like fighter pilots, combat vehicle drivers and fire and rescue command operators handle considerable amount of information during mission critical activities. The increasing complexity of the information landscape calls for alternative information presentation. LÄS MER
