  1. 1. Investigations of Flow Patterns in Ventilated Rooms Using Particle Image Velocimetry : Applications in a Scaled Room with Rapidly Varying Inflow and over a Wall-Mounted Radiator

    Författare :Amir Sattari; Ivo Martinac; Mats Sandberg; Dirk Müller; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Particle Image Velocimetry PIV ; experimental study; structured light 3D scanning system; ventilation; varying flow rate; room model; wall-mounted radiator; air; water; flow; Particle Image Velocimetry PIV ; experimentell studie; scanningsystem för strukturerat 3D-ljus; ventilation; varierande tilluftsflöde; rumsmodell; väggmonterad radiator; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces and describes a new experimental setup for examining the effects of pulsating inflow to a ventilated enclosure. The study aimed to test the hypothesis that a pulsating inflow has potential to improve ventilation quality by reducing the stagnation zones through enhanced mixing. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modelling and simulation of building components : thermal interaction between multilayer wall and hydronic radiator

    Författare :Christian Brembilla; Thomas Olofsson; Per Sahlin; Persson Leif; Annika Moström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydronic radiator; multilayer wall; efficiencies of emission; systemanalys; Systems Analysis; engineering science with specialization in microsystems technology; teknisk fysik med inriktningen mikrosystemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Background and Scope: The scope of this thesis is to investigate the thermal behaviour of building components as hydronic radiator and multilayer walls subjected to dynamic conditions. The modelling and simulation of these building components provide information on how these components thermally interact among each other. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Thermal and Hydraulic Performance of Enhanced Rectangular Tubes for Compact Heat Exchangers

    Författare :Carl-Olof Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LDV; heat exchanger; enhanced heat transfer; radiator; smoke visualization; pressure drop; secondary flow;

    Sammanfattning : The thermal and hydraulic performance of rib-roughened, dimpled and offset strip fin tubes has been investigated experimentally. Results from measurements on commercially manufactured tubes have shown that rib-roughened tubes have best potential for heat transfer enhancement with moderate pressure drop increase. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Lokala fjärrvärmesystem

    Författare :Lena C. Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; district heating; radiator circuit; low radiator flow; local network; pressure separator; jet pump;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis Local district heating systems deals with a new concept for district heating. The district heating system is arranged as one main system and a number of local systems. The production plants and the main distribution lines belong to the main system. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Hydronic Heating Systems The Effect of Design on System Sensitivity

    Författare :Anders Trüschel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shunt group; controllability; district heating; room temperature; air heater; heating coil; thermal power output; deviations; water return temperature; valve group; hydronic heating; radiator system; P-band;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis starts from the recognition that a hydronic heating system can be optimised, but can never be totally perfect. Sooner or later, in practice, deviations - caused by one or more components having slightly different characteristics or settings than they are assumed or supposed to have - arise. LÄS MER
