6. Heat Flow in Building Components, Experiment and Analysis
Sammanfattning : Three building components exposed to natural climate were studied: a dynamic insulation in the ceiling of a house, an outer wall and one window in the same wall. The term dynamic insulation implies that part of the inlet or exhaust air passes through the insulation of a house. LÄS MER
7. Neutrino Oscillations and Charged Higgs Bosons – Experimental Projects for Physics beyond the Standard Model
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on work done in two different experimental projects. The first project, the Tau RICH, is a previously proposed τ-neutrino appearance experiment for the CERN neutrino beam at the Gran Sasso laboratory in Italy. The proposed experimental concept is based on the use of focusing RICH detectors with liquid radiator (C6F14). LÄS MER
8. Engine Thermal Management in Heavy Duty Vehicles
Sammanfattning : Future regulations on noise and exhaust emissions have a large impact on heavy duty engine installations. Cooled EGR is used for NOx abatement. Better sealed engine encapsulations are used to meet new noise regulations. Engine thermal management is therefore becoming an increasingly important discipline. LÄS MER
9. CFD simulation of indoor climate in low energy buildings
Sammanfattning : In this thesis computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used for simulation of the indoor climate of low-energy buildings in cold climate. The heat consumption in newly built houses was reduced drastically. LÄS MER
10. Study of Mutual Coupling in Finite Antenna Arrays for Massive MIMO Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the study of mutual coupling (MC) in finite antenna arrays for base station antennas (BSAs) for Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) applications, with an emphasis on the development of a computationally-efficient modeling technique for the analysis of MC which can be readily applied in the design or synthesis schemes for BSAs. Traditionally, the effects of MC have been ignored or underestimated in the analyses performed within the information-theoretic-based communities by assuming idealized antenna elements with no MC between them or by considering the fictitious isotropic radiator models.
