  1. 1. Optical Studies of InAs Quantum Dots in III-V Semiconductors

    Författare :Lars Landin; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum dots; III-V semiconductors; k.p calculations; photoluminescence; deep-level transient spectroscopy; photoconductivity; few particle effect; single dot spectroscopy; InAs InP; Semiconductory physics; Halvledarfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Landin; InAs GaAs;

    Sammanfattning : I this thesis, optical studies of InAs quantum dots (QDs) in GaAs and InP are presented. The electronic structure of these zero dimensional structures, grown in the Stranski-Krastanow growth mode, was studied by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), junction space-charge techniques (JSCT) and photoconductivity (PC) measurements. 2. 2. Few particle effects in pyramidal quantum dots - a spectroscopic study

    Författare :Daniel Dufåker; Fredrik Karlsson; Per Olof Holtz; Val Zwiller; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis two very similar processes have been studied, both involving excitations of particles during recombination of exciton complexes in quantum dots, reducing the energy of the emitted photon. Different exciton complexes are defined according to the number of electrons and holes in the quantum dot upon recombination. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Quantum Few-Body Physics with the Configuration Interaction Approach: Method Development and Application to Physical Systems

    Författare :Jonas Cremon; Matematisk fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tonks-Girardeau gas; vortices; Bose-Einstein condensation; quantum many-particle physics; quantum few-particle physics; Lee-Suzuki approximation; configuration interaction method; Wigner localization; quantum dots; ultra-cold gases; Fysicumarkivet A:2010:Cremon;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation, based on six included papers, theoretically investigates properties of quantum few-particle systems. An overview of related experimental research - ultra-cold trapped dilute gases, and electrons in quantum dots - is given, followed by a description of some of the studied many-particle phenomena - Bose-Einstein condensation, quantized vortices, Wigner localization and the Tonks-Girardeau gas.
