1. Quantum Chaos and Dissipation in Finite Fermi Systems
Sammanfattning : We address the problem of the dissipative character of collective motion in finite Fermi systems. We study this problem from the point of view of chaotic features of the fermionic degrees of freedom of the many-body Fermi systems. LÄS MER
2. Resonances, dissipation and decoherence in exotic and artificial atoms
Sammanfattning : There are several reasons why exotic and artificial atoms attract the interest of different scientific communities. In exotic atoms, matter and antimatter can coexist for surprisingly long times. Thus, they present a unique natural laboratory for high precision antimatter studies. LÄS MER
3. Information Thermodynamics and Fluctuations in Quantum Dots
Sammanfattning : In small systems with large fluctuations, the classical description of thermodynamics is no longer sufficient which has led to the development of stochastic thermodynamics. One important result from stochastic thermodynamics is that with measurement and feedback it is possible to use those fluctuations to extract work from a single heat bath coupled to the system. 4. Low-Power HEMT LNAs for Quantum Computing
Sammanfattning : The rapid development of quantum computing technology predicts much more qubits to handle in the detection, readout, and amplification of qubits than in today's system. Due to the limited cooling capability of the dilution refrigerator, the current low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) are in need of ten to hundred times reduced dc power consumption yet with lowest noise temperature at qubit readout frequencies, typcially 4-12 GHz. 5. Fluctuations in Mesoscopic Constrictions
Sammanfattning : In normal and superconducting quantum point contacts there are several sources of fluctuations. Thermally activated impurities in the vicinity of the junction cause the current (or voltage) to change with a typical frequency of the order of one Hz up to a few kHz. LÄS MER
