16. Designing Urban Road Congestion Charging Systems : Models and Heuristic Solution Approaches
Sammanfattning : The question of how to design a congestion pricing scheme is difficult to answer and involves a number of complex decisions. This thesis is devoted to the quantitative parts of designing a congestion pricing scheme with link tolls in an urban car traffic network. LÄS MER
17. Methods for Preclinical Evaluation of Cytotoxic Drugs : With Special Reference to the Cyanoguanidine CHS 828 and Hollow Fiber Method
Sammanfattning : The novel cyanoguanidine CHS 828 has shown promising antitumor activity in many in vitro and in vivo studies. The long-term 14 days in vitro hollow fiber cultures, where tumor cells from different tumor cell lines were cultured inside semipermeable fibers, were more resistant to CHS 828 and other cytotoxic drugs than the shorter-term 3 days cultures. 18. Piperaquine - Bioanalys, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics
Sammanfattning : Malaria is one of the most abundant parasitic diseases in the world affecting many of the poorest economies. The estimated prevalence is 300 to 700 million clinical episodes each year with up to 3 million deaths. LÄS MER
19. The Mechanisms of Exocytosis Studied in Cells and Models with Amperometry
Sammanfattning : Exocytosis is the universal basis for neuronal communication, allowing the controlled release of neurotransmitter molecules from the presynaptic cell. Exocytosis has been widely studied in many systems. However, the details of this vital process are not fully understood. LÄS MER
20. Genetic analysis of autoimmune diseases using animal models : Mapping susceptibility genes for multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis
Sammanfattning : Autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis are common human diseasesaffecting 1% and 0.1% of the population respectively. These diseases are characterized by abnormal self-tolerance in the immune system and autoimmune reactions. LÄS MER
