6. Essays on Savings Behavior, Inflation Measurement, and Growth
Sammanfattning : The Impact of Pension Reform on Household Income and Savings: A Quantitative Analysis of the Swedish CaseIncreases in life expectancy cause challenges for defined benefit pension systems. Sweden is one of few countries having undertaken a major reform aimed at creating a financially sustainable pension system. LÄS MER
7. Optical Diagnostics for Quantitative Potassium Chemistry in Biomass Thermochemical Conversion Processes
Sammanfattning : Biomass is an essential sustainable and carbon-neutral energy source. Through thermochemical conversion processes, such as combustion and gasification, biomass can generally be used in boilers to provide heat and/or power. Biomass fuels contain varying amounts of potassium, chlorine and sulfur. LÄS MER
8. Quantitative cataract measurement with the Scheimpflug technique
Sammanfattning : Cataract is the most prevalent blinding eye disease. Scheimpflug photography is an objective method for documentation of lens nuclear opacity. Using the Scheimpflug slit-lamp technique, a photograph, in focus from the anterior surface of the cornea to the posterior surface of the lens, can be obtained. LÄS MER
9. An Intelligent Multi Sensor System for a Human Activities Space---Aspects of Quality Measurement and Sensor Arrangement
Sammanfattning : In our society with its aging population, the design and implementation of a highperformance distributed multi-sensor and information system for autonomous physical services become more and more important. In line with this, this thesis proposes an Intelligent Multi-Sensor System, IMSS, that surveys a human activities space to detect and identify a target for a specific service. LÄS MER
10. Quantitative Laser Doppler Flowmetry
Sammanfattning : Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) is virtually the only non-invasive technique, except for other laser speckle based techniques, that enables estimation of the microcirculatory blood flow. The technique was introduced into the field of biomedical engineering in the 1970s, and a rapid evolvement followed during the 1980s with fiber based systems and improved signal analysis. LÄS MER
