    Sammanfattning : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 2. 2. Quantitative Assessment of Intelligent Transport Systems for Road Freight Transport

    Författare :Gideon Mbiydzenyuy; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transport telematic services; Assessment; Freight transport; Quantitative; Modeling; Decision support systems;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, methods for using computer-based models as support tools for assessing Transport Telematic Services (TTSs) are studied. Such assessments provide one way to understand how TTSs can address problems caused by transportation, such as accidents, emissions, and energy consumption. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Robust analysis of uncertainty in scientific assessments

    Författare :Ivette Raices Cruz; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; expert knowledge; robust Bayesian analysis; scientific assessments; subjective probability; uncertainty analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Uncertainty refers to any limitation in knowledge. Identifying and characterizing uncertainty in conclusions is important to ensure transparency and avoid over or under confidence in scientific assessments. Quantitative expressions of uncertainty are less ambiguous compared to uncertainty expressed qualitatively, or not at all. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sizing up leadership : Norms and normativity in and around leadership measures

    Författare :Emilie Hesselbo; Företagsekonomiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Leadership measures; personality tests; quantitative assessments; commensuration; quantification; norms; normalisation; performativity; leadership development;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the role played by norms and social actors in establishing the acceptability and the purported validity of leadership measures. Taking an interpretivist and critical approach, I examine the subjective and normative side of supposedly objective quantitative assessment tools. LÄS MER

  5. 5. How do biogas solutions influence the sustainability of bio-based industrial systems?

    Författare :Linda Hagman; Mats Eklund; Niclas Svensson; Thomas Prade; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biogas; biorefinery; biomass; circular bioeconomy; sustainability; feasibility; stakeholders; assessments; methods;

    Sammanfattning : Biomass is a valuable and limited resource that should be used efficiently. The potential of replacing fossil-based products with bio-based ones produced in biobased industrial systems is huge. One important aim of increasing the share of biobased products is to improve the sustainability of systems for production and consumption. LÄS MER
