1. Fat-Referenced MRI : Quantitative MRI for Tissue Characterization and Volume Measurement
Sammanfattning : The amount and distribution of adipose and lean tissues has been shown to be predictive of mortality and morbidity in metabolic disease. Traditionally these risks are assessed by anthropometric measurements based on weight, length, girths or the body mass index (BMI). LÄS MER
2. Quantitative Tracer Based MRI Perfusion : Potentials and Limitations
Sammanfattning : Tracer based MRI perfusion measurements is a clinically useful tool to assess regional distributions of tissue blood flow and volume. The method may be based on any of the three relaxation mechanisms T1, T1 and T2*, the latter denoted DSC-MRI being the most common. LÄS MER
3. Quantitative Evaluation of Contrast Agent Dynamics in Liver MRI
Sammanfattning : The studies presented here evaluate the biliary, parenchymal and vascular enhancement effects of two T1-shortening liver-specific contrast agents, Gd-BOPTA and Gd-EOB-DTPA, in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of healthy subjects and of patients.Ten healthy volunteers were examined with both contrast agents in a 1. 4. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging
Sammanfattning : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 5. Contributions to quantitative dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI
Sammanfattning : Background: Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) has the potential to produce images of physiological quantities such as blood flow, blood vessel volume fraction, and blood vessel permeability. Such information is highly valuable, e.g., in oncology. LÄS MER
