  1. 1. Parametric interactions with signals and the vacuum

    Författare :Michael Roger Andre Simoen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; vacuum; circuit-QED; interferometer; SQUID; dynamical Casimir effect; multimode resonator; pumpistor; mode conversion; superconducting circuits; parametric amplification;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I present different experiments on superconducting circuits exploring parametric interactions with external signals and the vacuum in the microwave regime. These parametric processes are the result of the periodic modulation of a property of a system which results in different interactions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Parametrically pumped superconducting circuits

    Författare :Philip Krantz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SQUID; circuit quantum electrodynamics; Josephson junction; Superconducting circuits; resonators; parametric oscillators; quantum bit; pumpistor; quantum information;

    Sammanfattning : In this licentiate thesis, I present the design, fabrication, and characterization of superconducting parametric resonators, for use in quantum information processing. These devices are quarter-wavelength coplanar waveguide resonators (~5 GHz), terminated at one end by a non-linear inductance provided by a SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device). 3. 3. The Josephson parametric oscillator - From microscopic studies to single-shot qubit readout

    Författare :Philip Krantz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; resonators; Superconducting circuits; parametric oscillators; quantum bit; quantum information; SQUID; pumpistor; Josephson junction; circuit quantum electrodynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) is a prominent platform for quantum information processing, in which microwave photons are confined into resonant cavities coupled to superconducting quantum bits (qubits). The large effective dipole moment of the qubit, in combination with the high energy density of the quasi 1-D resonator allow these systems to enter the so-called strong coupling regime. LÄS MER
