11. Device Technology Based on High Temperature Superconductors and Microwave Breakdown in Gases
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with two separate fields of microwave technology. The first section treats microwave characterization and applications of high temperature superconducting (HTS) thin films, while the second section treats microwave breakdown in transmit-receive (TR) switches and in air. Within the first section, four main topics are adressed. LÄS MER
12. Online characterization of wood pulp : foundations for a photoacoustic sensing technique
Sammanfattning : Today, there is an increasing demand in the paper industry for better utilisation of the raw material and improved energy efficiency. Also, the increasing use of recycled paper in the manufacturing process leads to a situation where the knowledge of pulp properties needs to be improved and controlled. LÄS MER
13. Light-Matter Interaction on the Attosecond Timescale
Sammanfattning : Attosecond science refers to physical processes that occur on the natural timescale of electron motion in atomic and molecular systems. Attosecond time resolution can be obtained experimentally through a process called high-order harmonic generation where sharp attosecond pulses are formed in the time domain. LÄS MER
14. Characterization of energy gases by ultrasound : theory and experiments
Sammanfattning : The long-term goal with the research presented in this thesis has been to develop an ultrasonic sensor capable of measuring the energy content of energy gases such as natural- and biogas. The energy content can be calculated if the concentration of each constituent of a gas mixture is known. LÄS MER
15. Development of Methods for Phase System Characterization in Liquid Chromatography
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is first and foremost to improve the fundamental knowledge of nonlinear and preparative separation theory by focusing on some of the remaining “white spots” on the theoretical chromatographic map. Secondly, the acquired knowledge is used to develop, validate and execute new methods for phase characterization in liquid chromatography. LÄS MER
