  1. 1. Dissolving pulp : Multivariate Characterisation and Analysis of Reactivity and Spectroscopic Properties

    Författare :Kristina Elg Christoffersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Dissolving pulp; reactivity; solid state 13C NMR spectroscopy; NIR spectroscopy; multivariate analysis; cellulose; viscose; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Various chemical properties can be used to characterise dissolving pulp. The quality of the pulp must be carefully controlled to ensure that it meets the requirements for its intended use and the further processes to be applied. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Mechanical Pulp-Based Nanocellulose : Processing and applications relating to paper and paperboard, composite films, and foams

    Författare :Sinke Henshaw Osong; Per Engstrand; Sven Norgren; Mark Martinez; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mechanical pulp; thermo-mechanical pulp; chemi-thermomechanical pulp; fractionation; fines; homogenisation; nanocellulose; nano-ligno-cellulose; microfibrillated cellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose; paper; strength properties; crill; TEMPO; nanographite NG ; composite films;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with processing of nanocellulose originating from pulps, with focus on mechanical pulp fibres and fines fractions. The nanocellulose materials produced within this research project were tested for different purposes ranging from strength additives in paper and paperboard products, via composite films to foam materials. 3. 3. Hybrid printing on fibre-based packaging : Performance, Quality and Market

    Författare :Marcus Rehberger; Nils Enlund; Gunter Hübner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; packaging; corrugated board; surface topography; print quality; variable data printing; hybrid printing; flexography; inkjet; print quality; market survey; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Variable data will play a decisive role in the future of packaging and product promotion. Variable data printing (VDP) is a technique whereby certain information can be altered in an otherwise static layout with the help of a digital printing system, and in the packaging industry a wide range of applications is possible. 4. 4. Mechanical Pulp. Effects of Pretreatment and Wood Source on Fiber Separation and Pulp Properties

    Författare :Lars Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; torsional stress; pulp properties; chips; impregnation; screw press; SEM; mechanical pulp; sulfonation; shear stress; fracture surface; wood quality; temperature;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns the mechanical pulping process and the effects of wood source and pretreatment conditions on the pulp properties. In the first part, the deformation of Norway spruce (Picea abies) wood samples was investigated under shear and torsional loading at different temperatures (20-95°C) and sulfonation conditions. 5. 5. Mechanical Pulp Based Nano-ligno-cellulose : Production, Characterisation and their Effect on Paper Properties

    Författare :Sinke Henshaw Osong; Per Engstrand; Sven Norgren; Kristin Syverud; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mechanical pulp; thermo-mechanical pulp; chemi-thermomechanical pulp; fractionation; fines; homogenisation; nanocellulose; nano-ligno-cellulose NLC ; handsheets; strength properties; crill;

    Sammanfattning : Almost all research on biorefinery concepts are based on chemical pulping processes and ways of utilising lignin, hemicelluloses and extractives as well as a part of the remaining cellulose for production of nano materials in order to create more valuable products than today. Within the Forest as a Resource (FORE) research program at FSCN we are utilising the whole chain of unit processes from forestry to final products as paper and board, where the pulping process research focus on high yield process as TMP and CTMP.
