  1. 1. Transitional design histories

    Författare :Maria Göransdotter; Johan Redström; Kjetil Fallan; Molly Wright Steenson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; design; design research; design theory; design history; history of design; industrial design; participatory design; co-design; user-centered design; Scandinavian design; Swedish design; history of ideas; design; designforskning; designteori; designhistoria; industridesign; deltagande design; samskapande; användarcentrerad design; skandinavisk design; svensk design; folkhemmet; idéhistoria; design; design; industrial design; industridesign; idé- och lärdomshistoria; History Of Sciences and Ideas; History; historia;

    Sammanfattning : Design practices are to a large degree conceptually and methodologically based in ways of designing rooted in the 20th century. Some of the challenges that arise in contemporary design stem from an unawareness of design’s historicity, and the discrepancies between what design methods and concepts once were made to handle, and what we presently try to apply them to. 2. 2. Design and optimization of parallel haptic devices : Design methodology and experimental evaluation

    Författare :Suleman Khan; Kjell Andersson; Jan Wikander; Ölvander Johan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Medical simulation; 6-DOF haptic devices; design methodology.; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The simulation of surgical procedures, in the case of hard tissues such as bone or teeth milling, using a haptic milling surgery simulator requires a haptic device which can provide high stiffness and transparency. To mimic a real milling process of hard tissue, such as for example creating a narrow channel or cavity, the simulator needs to provide force/torque feedback in 5–6 degrees of freedom (DOF). LÄS MER

  3. 3. A tool for holistic optimization of mechatronic design concepts

    Författare :Daniel Malmquist; Jan Wikander; Marc Budinger; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechatronics; Design methodology; Conceptual design; Optimization; Modeling; Integrated design; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : Designing mechatronic systems is challenging. Even so, mechatronicproducts are regarded as one of the most important means in order toinnovate in many large industries, e.g. automobile and aerospace. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Integration of Enterprise Modeling and Model Driven Development : A Meta-Model and a Tool Prototype

    Författare :Iyad Zikra; Janis Stirna; Jelena Zdravkovic; Anne Persson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Model-Driven Development; MDD; Enterprise Modeling; EM; Meta-model; Prototype; Design Science; Tool Implementation; informationssystem; Information Systems;

    Sammanfattning : The use of models for designing and developing Information Systems (IS) has changed in recent years. Models are no longer considered a peripheral documentation medium that is poorly maintained and often neglected. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Design Decisions and Co-operative Development of Manufacturing Systems

    Författare :Pär Mårtensson; Bengt Lindberg; Gunnar Blomsjö; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; manufacturing system; design methodology; co-operation; Product science; Produktforskning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents contributions within two domains of manufacturing system development. The first domain is systematic design of product and manufacturing system. The second domain is model based co-operative development between manufacturing companies and manufacturing system suppliers. LÄS MER
