3. Neutron scattering for sustainable energy materials: investigations of proton dynamics in acceptor doped barium zirconates
Sammanfattning : Proton conducting oxides are currently receiving considerable attention for their present or potential use as electrolytes in technological devices such as sensors and electrolysers and, in particular, solid oxide fuel cells, which are among the most promising apparatuses for energy conversion. One of the main challenges for these latter devices is to combine the advantages of a solid electrolyte with those of operational temperatures below 750 °C, which is currently hampered by insufficient conductivities in the targeted temperature range. 4. Structure and Dynamics in Transition Metal Perovskites — An Optical Spectroscopy Study
Sammanfattning : Transition metal oxides with the perovskite structure exhibit a vast number of exotic properties due to the large number of competing degrees of freedom at the Fermi surface. Together with couplings between and correlations within these degrees of freedom, this class of materials is of high interest from both a practical and theoretical point of view. LÄS MER
5. Local structure and dynamics in proton conducting perovskite oxides: insights from quasielastic neutron scattering and infrared spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Proton conducting oxides have been extensively studied in the past decade due to their potential application in a number of energy related devices such as solid oxide fuel cells, hydrogen sensors, and steam electrolyzers. However, the final industrialisation of these materials depends on unlocking fundamental questions about the relationship between their atomic structure, localized proton dynamics and proton conductivity.
