1. Identification and Characterization of Peptides and Proteins using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry
Sammanfattning : Mass spectrometry has in recent years been established as the standard method for protein identification and characterization in proteomics with excellent intrinsic sensitivity and specificity. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance is the mass spectrometric technique that provides the highest resolving power and mass accuracy, increasing the amount of information that can be obtained from complex samples. 2. Proximity Ligation Assay for High Performance Protein Analysis in Medicine
Sammanfattning : High quality reagents are preconditions for high performance protein analyses. But despite progress in some techniques, e.g. mass spectrometry, there is still a lack of affinity-based detection techniques with enhanced precision, specificity, and sensitivity. LÄS MER
3. Protein-Protein Interactions in Human Aquaporin Regulation
Sammanfattning : Water is an essential compoment of every living orgamism and forms a major part of the human body. Regulated water transport is crucial for proper cell functioning and body homeostasis. LÄS MER
4. Cyanobacteria in symbiosis with plants : Protein patterns and regulatory mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Cyanobacteria belonging to the heterocystous genus Nostoc, capable of oxygenic photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation via the enzyme nitrogenase, may form symbiotic associations with plants. In these associations most of the N2 fixed by the symbiotic cyanobacteria (cyanobiont) is transferred to the host, which in turn supplies the cyanobiont with fixed carbon. LÄS MER
5. Protein phosphorylation in plant mitochondria
Sammanfattning : Protein phosphorylation in the subcompartments of plant mitochondria was investigated by labelling with [gamma-32P]ATP and by SDS-PAGE/autoradiography. About 20 proteins in inside-out inner mitochondrial membranes from potato tubers were phosphorylated by endogenous protein kinases when incubated with [gamma-32P]ATP. LÄS MER
