  1. 11. Molecular mechanisms underlying morphological effects of protein kinase C under normal conditions and cellular stress

    Författare :Lovisa Sunesson; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuroblastoma; amytrophic lateral sclerosis; PABPC1; IGF2BP3; G3BP2; peripherin; C1 domain; protein-protein-interactions; Protein kinase C; neurite outgrowth;

    Sammanfattning : The protein kinase C (PKC) family of serine/threonine kinases consists of 10-15 members. The PKC isoforms have central roles in many essential cellular processes, including proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, cytoskeletal changes, and migration. LÄS MER

  2. 12. The Tyrosine Kinase GTK : Signal Transduction and Biological Function

    Författare :Cecilia Annerén; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Protein tyrosine kinases; GTK; SHB; proliferation; survival; differentiation; β cells; pancreatectomy; cytokines; diabetes; PC12 cells; NGF; streptozotocin; focal adhesion kinase; RAP1; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Protein tyrosine kinases play an important role in the regulation of various cellular processes such asgrowth, differentiation and survival. GTK, a novel SRC-like cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase, was recently cloned from a mouse insulinoma cell line and the present work was conducted in order to find a biological function of GTK in insulin producing and neuronal cells. 3. 13. Substrate specificity of protein kinases studied with synthetic peptides

    Författare :Reet Toomik; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; protein kinase A; protein kinase C; substrate; peptide; specificity; stereospecificity; assay; SPOTS peptides; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medical and Physiological Chemistry; medicinsk och fysiologisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concentrates on the substrate specificities of protein kinases A and C (PKA, PKC). Synthetic peptides are used for that purpose, both in soluble and cellulose membrane-bound form. The, stereospecificity of both protein kinases was studied with D-amino acid containing synthetic peptides. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Signal Transduction by Proline-Rich Tyrosine Kinase Pyk2

    Författare :Inga Dikic; Olli Silvennoinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Onkologi; Protein phosphorylation; tyrosine kinase; Pyk2 FAK; neuronal differentiation; Ras MAP kinase pathway; Oncology; Onkologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : The proline-rich tyrosine kinase (Pyk2) together with focal adhesion kinase (FAK) define a family of non-receptor protein tyrosine kinases that are regulated by diverse stimuli. Activation of Pyk2 has been implicated in multiple signaling events, including modulation of ion channels, activation of MAP kinase cascades and apoptotic cell death. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Understanding molecular mechanisms of protein tyrosine kinases by molecular dynamics and free energy calculations

    Författare :Yaozong Li; Kwangho Nam; Magnus Wolf-Watz; Amedeo Caflisch; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background: Insulin receptor kinase (IRK) and Insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor kinase (IGF-1RK) are two important members in the large class of tyrosine kinase receptors. They play pivotalroles in the regulation of glucose homeostasis, cell proliferation, differentiation, motility, andtransformation. LÄS MER
