  1. 6. Measurement-Based Modeling of Wireless Propagation Channels - MIMO and UWB

    Författare :Johan Kåredal; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; personal area networks; MIMO; channel modeling; Propagation; channel measurements; vehicle-to-vehicle communicationa; ultra-wideband;

    Sammanfattning : Future wireless systems envision higher speeds and more reliable services but at the same time face challenges in terms of bandwidth being a limited resource. Two promising techniques that can provide an increased throughput without requiring additional bandwidth allocation are multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems and ultra-wideband (UWB) systems. 2. 7. Derivation, propagation and differentiation of human stem and progenitor cells

    Författare :Mathilda Zetterström Axell; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Human embryonic stem cells; neural progenitor cells; stem cells; differentiation; propagation; migration; cell culturing; rostral migratory stream; electrospun scaffolds;

    Sammanfattning : Neuronal loss is a common feature of many neurological disorders, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and traumatic brain injury. Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) and hESC-derived neural progenitors (NPs) may provide a number of new ways for studying and treating diseases and injuries in the brain. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Microscopic Modeling of Exciton Propagation and Dissociation in Two-Dimensional Materials

    Författare :Raul Perea Causin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 2D materials; excitons; dissociation; many-particle physics; propagation; dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Atomically thin materials have been in the spotlight of research during the last decade due to their exceptional properties, providing a platform for the study of novel physical phenomena. In particular, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have emerged as promising atomically thin materials for future optoelectronic applications owing to their strong light-matter interaction and their high tunability. 4. 9. Measurements of cosmic ray antiprotons with PAMELA and studies of propagation models

    Författare :Juan Wu; Mark Pearce; Fiorenza Donato; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cosmic ray; PAMELA; antiproton flux; propagation;

    Sammanfattning : Studying the acceleration and propagation mechanisms of Galactic cosmic rays can provide information regarding astrophysical sources, the properties of our Galaxy, and possible exotic sources such as dark matter. To understand cosmic ray acceleration and propagation mechanisms, accurate measurements of different cosmic ray elements over a wide energy range are needed. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Lithium-ion Battery Safety - Assessment by Abuse Testing, Fluoride Gas Emissions and Fire Propagation

    Författare :Carl Fredrik Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fire; thermal runaway; gas emission; gas explosion; propagation; safety; abuse testing; Lithium-ion; cell case explosion; hydrogen fluoride;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium-ion batteries offer high energy and power densities as well as long life time but have a more narrow stability window compared to other battery types and contain reactive and flammable materials. In case of overheating the battery cell can release gas (vent) and, at temperatures of about 150-200 °C, a so called thermal runaway can occur, that is a rapid self-heated temperature increase which is typically accompanied with a large release of smoke and gas, fire and a potential cell case explosion or gas explosion.
