  1. 1. By Means of Beams : Laser Patterning and Stability in CIGS Thin Film Photovoltaics

    Författare :Per-Oskar Westin; Marika Edoff; Uwe Zimmermann; Lars Stolt; Friedrich Kessler; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser patterning; laser ablation; laser micro-welding; stability; Cu InGa Se2; CIGS; thin film solar cells; thin film photovoltaics; module technology; solar energy; Electronics; Elektronik; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : Solar irradiation is a vast and plentiful source of energy. The use of photovoltaic (PV) devices to convert solar energy directly to electrical energy is an elegant way of sustainable power generation which can be distributed or in large PV plants based on the need. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computer-Assisted Proofs and Other Methods for Problems Regarding Nonlinear Differential Equations

    Författare :Oswald Fogelklou; Warwick Tucker; Gunilla Kreiss; Piotr Zgliczynski; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; computer-assisted proof; numerical verification; viscous Burgers’ equation; enclosure; existence; nonlinear boundary value problems; Euler equations; inverse problem; bicubic spline; interval analysis; heat equation; fluid limit; peer-to-peer networks; fixed points; stability; global stability; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This PhD thesis treats some problems concerning nonlinear differential equations. In the first two papers computer-assisted proofs are used. The differential equations there are rewritten as fixed point problems, and the existence of solutions are proved. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Input-Output Stability Analysis of Networked Control Systems

    Författare :Johannes Nygren; Kristiaan Pelckmans; Torkel Glad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Networked control systems; L2-stability; quantization; delay; packet dropouts; switching systems; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Sammanfattning : The main focus of the thesis is to derive stability criteria for networked control system (NCS) models featuring imperfections such as time-varying and constant delays, quantization, packet dropouts, and non-uniform sampling intervals. The main method of proof is based on matrix algebra, as opposed to methods using Lyapunov functions or integral quadratic constraints (IQC). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Stability of plane Couette flow and pipe Poiseuille flow

    Författare :Per-Olov Åsén; Gunilla Kreiss; Jonathan Goodman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrodynamic stability; plane Couette flow; pipe Poiseuille flow; direct numerical simulations; resolvent; Fluid mechanics; Strömningsmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the stability of plane Couette flow and pipe Poiseuille flow in three space dimensions. The mathematical model for both flows is the incompressible Navier--Stokes equations. Both analytical and numerical techniques are used. We present new results for the resolvent corresponding to both flows. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Improved Molecular Understanding of Lipid-Based Formulations : for Enabling Oral Delivery of Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs

    Författare :Linda C. Alskär; Christel Bergström; Brendan Griffin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; lipid-based formulation; poorly water-soluble drug; solubility prediction; molecular properties; lipid digestion; precipitation; solid state; intestinal solubilization; in vitro in vivo correlation IVIVC ; coadministration; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : The majority of emerging drug candidates are not suited for conventional oral dosage forms, as they do not dissolve in the aqueous environment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Consequently, a large number of enabling formulation strategies have emerged. LÄS MER
