  1. 1. Studies of PLAG1 and HMGIC fusion oncogenes in human tumors

    Författare :Anna-Karin Ström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pleomorphic adenoma; carcinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma; lipoblastoma; PLAG1; HMGIC; chromosome translocation; promoter swapping; fusion oncogene; gene amplification;

  2. 2. Molecular mechanisms for transcription in mammalian mitochondria

    Författare :Martina Gaspari; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :mitochondria; oxidative phosphorylation; mtDNA; transcription; TFAM; TFB1M TFB2M; POLRMT; promoter recognition; CSB II;

    Sammanfattning : The circular double stranded mitochondrial genome (mtDNA), which is about 16,600 bp in humans and 16,300 bp in mice, encodes 13 of the -90 different proteins present in the respiratory chain of mammalian mitochondria. The remaining components of the respiratory chain are encoded by nuclear genes and imported into the mitochondrial network. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genomic and Transcriptomic Analyses of Osteogenic Tumours of Bone

    Författare :Karim Saba; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Primary tumours of bone are heterogenous and infrequent neoplasms. Distinguishing between benign, intermediate and malignant entities can in some instances pose a clinical challenge. For some tumour types, there is still much to be learned about the genetic mechanisms that give rise to and drive these tumours forward. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Developmental switches in a family of temperate phages

    Författare :Alexandra Ahlgren Berg; Elisabeth Haggård-Ljungquist; Gianni Dehò; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Genetics; Genetik;

    Sammanfattning : P2 is the prototype phage of the non-lambdoid P2 family of temperate phages. A developmental switch determines whether a temperate phage will grow lytically or form lysogeny after infection. P2 related phages have two face-to-face located promoters controlling the lysogenic and the lytic operon respectively, and two repressors. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Dissecting the gene regulatory networks behind carbon allocation in plants : ex situ studies on combinatorial and subdomains effects of seed transcription factors

    Författare :Per Snell; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Plants store excess energy and metabolites derived from photosynthesis in a variety of storage compounds with starch, protein and triacyglycerol (oil, TAG) being the most common. As humans, we are completely dependent on these compounds either directly as food or indirectly, as materials for large number of goods or feed for animals. LÄS MER
