11. Medical data time series analyses using AI techniques
Sammanfattning : In many areas of medicine, we collect serial measurements of different variables as they change over time. Changes in a time series is often reflective of a change in a patient's status and may be helpful in guiding the appropriate therapy. LÄS MER
12. A Detailed Kinetic Model for Calculation of the Soot Particle Size Distribution Function
Sammanfattning : The soot particle size distribution was studied via numerical simulation under diesel like engine conditions using a detailed kinetic soot model. Two different mathematical methods of the soot model description have been used in this work. In the first part of the work, the method of moments is presented. LÄS MER
13. Modelling effects of flame development on stationary and oscillating premixed turbulent combustion
Sammanfattning : The vast majority of contemporary models of premixed turbulent flames applied to multi-dimensional RANS numerical simulations of combustion in gas turbine engines and aero-engine afterburners focus on fully-developed flames, characterized by fully-developed turbulent diffusivity, thickness, and burning velocity. However, abundant experimental data obtained from statistically stationary premixed flames clearly show that a typical turbulent flame develops as it is convected by mean flow from a stabilization zone. 14. An analysis of factors influencing renewable energy deployment in the EU’s electricity sector
Sammanfattning : The EU has set itself ambitious short- and long-term decarbonisation targets: a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2050, compared to 1990 levels. The power generation sector, currently responsible for around 55% of GHG emissions, is expected to contribute significantly to achieving the EU’s decarbonisation targets. LÄS MER
15. Extramural English Matters : Out-of-School English and Its Impact on Swedish Ninth Graders' Oral Proficiency and Vocabulary
Sammanfattning : The present study examines possible effects of extramural English (EE) on oral proficiency (OP) and vocabulary (VOC). The study is based on data collected from Swedish learners of ESL in grade 9 (aged 15-16; N=80; 36 boys, 44 girls) over a period of one year. LÄS MER
