1. TILLBLIVELSER : En trasslig berättelse om design som normkritisk praktik
Sammanfattning : The increasing awareness of norm-critical perspectives (in society, academia and industry) brings with it the need to develop methods to ensure they can be implemented in practice. This thesis discusses how the role of design contributes to and maintains norms, and shows how design as a norm critical practice has great potential to bridge the gap between theory and practice in norm-critical work. 2. Storyforming : Experiments in creating discursive engagements between people, things and environments
Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces and critically reflects on a design programme, Storyforming, that explores ways to design objects and places to enrich daily life narratives. Using an experimental design approach, the goal is to exemplify and explore this idea with discursive artefacts that, through their physical and temporal form, act as catalysts in the construction of meaningful experiences. 3. Designing for sustainability practices : RE-DO Design Doings, Strategies and Postures
Sammanfattning : Tackling current sustainability challenges requires substantial societal and social changes, and many different strategies for their deployment. More people have to choose sustainability practices, such as sustainable mobility practices, but such transitions are not easily accomplished. LÄS MER
4. Designing tools forconviviality : A design led exploration of ParticipatoryActivity Mapping
Sammanfattning : This thesis is a report of research work that contributes to the understandingof so-called convivial tools. It does this by describing how small enterprisesuse Participatory Activity Mapping as an approach to changing, as well ascaring about, people and the things that hold their work situations together. 5. Experimental and theoretical investigation of the laser cutting process
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns experimental investigations of laser cutting with theoretical and practical discussions of the results. The thesis is made up of three papers which are linked in such a way that each of them studies a different aspect of laser cutting: In paper I the two major laser types in cutting, namely CO2 and fiber lasers, are compared to each other by a self-defined cut efficiency.
