6. Process Intensification through Acoustic and Hydrodynamic Cavitation
Sammanfattning : Process industries are cornerstones in today’s industrialized world. They contribute significantly to the development of diverse commodities and materials that are used in our daily lives. Process intensification is an approach implemented to boost manufacturing efficiency and capacities in a more sustainable and energy efficient way. LÄS MER
7. Laser metal fusion and deposition using wire feedstock : Process modelling and CFD simulation
Sammanfattning : Laser metal fusion is widely used in production technology to manufacture parts, as in welding, cladding, and additive manufacturing. In this study, conduction mode laser metal fusion is applied without and with metal deposition from a wire feedstock. LÄS MER
8. Pressurized entrained flow gasification of pulverized biomass : Experimental characterization of process performance
Sammanfattning : The anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (e.g. CO2), mostly connected to the use of fossil fuels, to the atmosphere have increased during the last century and there is significant evidence that this is the main reason for the recent global temperature rise. LÄS MER
9. Identification of Stochastic Nonlinear Dynamical Models Using Estimating Functions
Sammanfattning : Data-driven modeling of stochastic nonlinear systems is recognized as a very challenging problem, even when reduced to a parameter estimation problem. A main difficulty is the intractability of the likelihood function, which renders favored estimation methods, such as the maximum likelihood method, analytically intractable. LÄS MER
10. Towards a semantics of linguistic time : exploring some basic time concepts with special reference to English and Krio
Sammanfattning : Using English and the West-African creole language Krio as the objects of investigation, this study proposes an analysis in which verbs and the paradigms pertaining to verbs are conceived of as being the only direct carriers of linguistic time encoding. The fundamental assumption is that nominals encode substance, be it concrete or abstract, and that verbals encode abstract substance with time. LÄS MER
