16. α-Synuclein Fibril Formation and the Effects of Lipid Membranes
Sammanfattning : Amyloid protein aggregation results in major disturbances of cellular processes in humans. The most common amyloid-related disorders are Alzheimer´s disease and Parkinson´s disease. Parkinson´s disease is charaterized by the formation of protein-rich aggregates that are deposited in neurons, termed Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites. LÄS MER
17. Ice out of Fire : Ice and cloud condensation nucleation of aerosol particles emitted from controlled soot generation and combustion of renewable fuels
Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles, small solid or liquid particles suspended in a gas, are found everywhere in the atmosphere. Air pollution from such particles, mainly soot from combustion-derived activity is a leading cause of premature deaths in the world and have a large effect on the climate. LÄS MER
18. On the influence of imperfections on microstructure and properties of recycled Al-Si casting alloys
Sammanfattning : There are great energy savings to be made by recycling aluminium; as little as 5% of the energy needed for primary aluminium production may be required. Striving to produce high quality aluminium castings requires knowledge of microstructural imperfections, which is extra important when casting recycled aluminium that generally contains higher levels of imperfections compared to primary aluminium. 19. Imperfections in Recycled Aluminium-Silicon Cast Alloys
Sammanfattning : In striving to produce high quality cast components from recycled aluminium alloys, imperfections have to be considered, because recycled aluminium usually containsmore of it. However, there are great energy savings to be made by using recycledaluminium; as little as 5% of the energy needed for primary aluminium productionmay be required. LÄS MER
20. Formation of Bainite in Steels
Sammanfattning : A systematic survey of morphology of bainite and proeutectoid ferrite was carried out in order to validate some old thoughts of bainite transformation mechanism. It is confirmed that there is no morphological evidence supporting a sharp change neither between Widmanstätten ferrite and the ferritic component of upper bainite, nor between upper and lower bainite.
