1. Theoretical modeling of molar volume and thermal expansion
Sammanfattning : Combination of the Calphad method and theoretical calculations provides new possibilities for the study of materials science. This work is a part of the efforts within the CCT project (Centre of Computational Thermodynamics) to combine these methods to facilitate modeling and to extend the thermodynamic databases with critically assessed volume data. 2. Double Layer Forces: the Role of Molecular Solvents
Sammanfattning : The dielectric continuum model has rightfully been and continues to be a major workhorse for theory and modelling in Surface and Colloid Chemistry. Due to the implicit description of water, entering only as a scaling constant for charge-charge interactions, one would not expect it to work for short distances. LÄS MER
3. Ultra high-pressure compaction of powder
Sammanfattning : Sintering at high-pressure improves the properties of the material, either through new sintering aids becoming available or through improving intergranular bonding. This gives the manufactured products potential advantages like faster cut rates, and more precise and cleaner production methods that add up to cost efficiency and competitive edge. LÄS MER
4. Lubricants influence on wear in sharp rail curves
Sammanfattning : Rail lubrication in curves was widely introduced in Sweden during the 1970’s due to the high wear rate of gauge faces in sharp curves. The first tests performed in Sweden showed that lubrication decreased wear rates by roughly 10 times. Based upon these results, the Swedish track system was equipped with wayside lubricators called Clicomatic. LÄS MER
5. The venous circulation in teleost fish -responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia
Sammanfattning : Sandblom, Erik (2007). The venous circulation in teleost fish -Responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia. Department of Zoology/Zoophysiology, Göteborg University, Box 463, SE-405 30 Göteborg, Sweden. In fish and other vertebrates, venous capacitance changes have important implications on venous return and cardiac filling pressure. LÄS MER
