  1. 1. Aspects of Chemotherapy in Prostate Cancer

    Författare :Åsa Jellvert; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prostate cancer; CRPC; chemotherapy; metronomic; prognostic; predictive; biomarkers;

    Sammanfattning : Since 2004 chemotherapy has been a part of standard of care in prostate cancer (PC) and improved symptom control and survival has been demonstrated in metastatic castration-resistant PC. Whether docetaxel has benefits in earlier stages of PC is currently under investigation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Predictive biomarkers in rheumatoid arthritis

    Författare :Karen Hambardzumyan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Being a very heterogeneous disease, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is challenging for treatment. On a group level, some therapy options might be superior compared with others, however, this does not mutually exclude the less effective option to be more suitable for some patients, if the superior therapy option does not help. 3. 3. Predictive and prognostic factors in cervical carcinomas treated with (chemo-) radiotherapy

    Författare :Louise Bohr Mordhorst; Bengt Sorbe; Preben Kjölhede; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cervical carcinoma; radio-chemotherapy; biomarkers; predictive factors; prognostic factors; multiprotein analysis; Hedgehog pathway; Wnt β-catenin pathway; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : A series of 131 women with cervical carcinoma FIGO stage I-IV were treated with external radiotherapy and intracavitary brachytherapy. In 47 patients (36%) concomitant chemotherapy was given. One hundred and twenty-one tumors (92%) achieved complete remission. Addition of chemotherapy increased primary cure rate to 98%. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Proteomic Analysis of Urinary Bladder Cancer : Aiming for Novel Biomarkers

    Författare :Mårten Lindén; Per-Uno Malmström; Ulrika Segersten; Sara Bergström Lind; Lars Egevad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :urine; APOE; FGB; GAL1; LRG1; POLR1E; SERPINA1; STMN1; TOP2A; biomarker; diagnostic biomarker; prognostic biomarker; predictive biomarker; mass spectrometry; western blot; dot blot; immunohistochemistry; IHC; tissue microarray; TMA; urothelium; antibody; antibody-based; urinblåsecancer; biomarkör; diagnos; prognos; urin; proteomik; masspektrometri; immunohistokemi; antikroppar; Molecular Biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Urinary bladder cancer is a heterogeneous disease appearing in different forms, e.g. non-muscle invasive and muscle invasive. For all variants, the expression of proteins is interesting to analyze for diagnostic, predictive, prognostic and drug targeting purposes, since it reflects the altered gene expression causing the cancer. 5. 5. Biomarkers in Cardiovascular Dysautonomia: an Emerging Field

    Författare :Madeleine Johansson; Kardiovaskulär forskning - hypertoni; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomarkers; Cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction; Syncope; Orthostatic hypotension; Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome; Cardiovascular disease; Autonomic dysfunction;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction is a multifactorial disorder manifested as orthostatic hypotension (OH) and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). OH has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), and the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood and explored. LÄS MER
