  1. 21. Ultrasensitive DNA sequencing using liquid biopsies enables precision medicine

    Författare :Gustav Johansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Liquid biopsy; cell-free DNA; immune repertoire; next-generation sequencing; unique molecule identifier; GIST; γδ T cell;

    Sammanfattning : Liquid biopsies are minimally invasive and allow repetitive sampling of body fluids. Analysis of cell-free tumor DNA in liquid biopsies can be used as a biomarker for cancer. However, in most clinically relevant liquid biopsies, cell-free DNA is present at low concentrations, contains minute tumor allele frequencies, and is highly fragmented. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Genomic instability and genetic heterogeneity in neuroblastoma tumours

    Författare :Niloufar Javanmardi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neuroblastoma tumour; subclone; mutation; relapse; deep sequencing; tumour supressor gene;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma (NB), a tumour of the sympathetic nervous system and the most common malignant disease of early childhood, is responsible for 9% of paediatric cancer related deaths. Aggressive NB still constitutes a major clinical problem with survival rates of about 35%. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Lifestyle and glycaemic control before and after the onset of type 2 diabetes

    Författare :Robert Koivula; Genetisk och molekylär epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Type 2 Diabetes; Prediabetes; Obesity; Beta-cell Function; Insulin Sensitivity; Physical Activity; Exercise; Diet; Lifestyle; Ectopic Fat; Genetic Epidemiology; Genetic Risk; Biomarker; Precision Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a complex disease with widespread physiological insults to the regulation of metabolic homeostasis, above all glycaemic regulation. The pathogenesis of T2D and its progression is broadly understood to be through a gradual decrease in peripheral insulin sensitivity, a compensatory rise in insulin secretion, and a gradual decline in beta-cell function, resulting in glycaemic dysregulation and eventual T2D. 4. 24. Genetics of Diabetes Subtypes. Characterization of novel cluster-based diabetes subtypes

    Författare :Dina Mansour Aly; diabetes och endokrinologi Genomik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Precision medicine; Diabetes Subclassification; genome-wide association studies; GWAS; genetic risk scores; GRS; chronic kidney disease; CKD; diabetic kidney disease; DKD; Estimated glomerular filtration rate; eGFR; ANDIS; diabetes; diabetics;

    Sammanfattning : BACKGROUND: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) has been reproducibly clustered into five subtypes based on six-clinical variables; age at diabetes onset, body mass index (BMI), Glutamic acid decarboxylase autoantibodies (GADA), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and insulin secretion and resistance estimated as HOMA2B and HOMA2IR derived from fasting glucose and Cpeptide. These subtypes have different disease progression and risk of complications. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Functional genomics approaches to dissect causal DNA variations in obesity and type 2 diabetes

    Författare :Mi Huang; Genetisk och molekylär epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; GWAS; Obesity; Type 2 diabetes; CRISPR Cas9; precision medicine; adipocytes; functional genomics;

    Sammanfattning : GWAS studies have identified hundreds of loci that associate with obesity and type 2 diabetes. However, the functional relevance of the genetic variants, and their impact on disease or traits, is largely unknown. LÄS MER
