16. Power-generation, Power-electronics and Power-systems issues of Power Converters for Photovoltaic Applications
Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with issues related to solar energy systems, or more specifically, the electric systems of photovoltaic (PV) installations. Initially aspects of planning and estimating the performance of a PV-installation are considered. LÄS MER
17. On Distributed Balancing of Wind Power Forecast Deviations in Competitive Power Systems
Sammanfattning : Wind power generation does, on the one hand, contribute to a less polluting and more sustainable electric power generation mix. On the other hand, the uncertainty and the variability of the power output do challenge the operation of the power system: hourly variations in wind power generation are hardly predictable in a precise way. 18. Static Timing Analysis of Parallel Systems Using Abstract Execution
Sammanfattning : The Power Wall has stopped the past trend of increasing processor throughput by increasing the clock frequency and the instruction level parallelism. Therefore, the current trend in computer hardware design is to expose explicit parallelism to the software level. LÄS MER
19. Electromagnetic characterization of power electronic systems
Sammanfattning : Propelled by increased global awareness and demand for clean energy systems, there is a growing trend in transportation, utility, industrial, and residential applications towards the utilisation of power electronic systems with enhanced power ow controllability and eciency. Examples of power electronics applications include terminal converters in high-voltage direct Current (HVDC) transmission; exible AC transmission systems (FACTS); and converters to interface alternative energy systems such as wind turbines to the grid, variable-speed motor drives in pump systems, vehicular propulsion systems, air-conditioners, and refrigerators. 20. Logistics systems for recycling : on the influence of products, structures, relationships and power
Sammanfattning : The environmental trend, and environmental legislation, has during the past decade grown stronger, and with it the focus on environmental issues within many fields of research and practice. This has implications for logistics, and the focus in this dissertation is on the logistics systems that are needed to realise recycling of end-of-life products: logistics systems for recycling (LSRs).
