21. Well Testing, Methods and Applicability
Sammanfattning : Well testing is widely used today in water wells, oil and gas wells, for geothermal applications, within civil engineering projects, thermal storage and CO2 storage. The overall testing goal is to verify the productivity from a well and/or for characterization of hydraulic and thermal properties, as well as the spatial limitations of an aquifer. LÄS MER
22. On Tracing Flicker Sources and Classification of Voltage Disturbances
Sammanfattning : Developments in measurement technology, communication and data storage have resulted in measurement systems that produce large amount of data. Together with the long existing need for characterizing the performance of the power system this has resulted in demand for automatic and efficient information-extraction methods. LÄS MER
23. The importance of body-mass exponent optimization for evaluation of performance capability in cross-country skiing
Sammanfattning : Introduction Performance in cross-country skiing is influenced by the skier’s ability to continuously produce propelling forces and force magnitude in relation to the net external forces. A surrogate indicator of the “power supply” in cross-country skiing would be a physiological variable that reflects an important performance-related capability, whereas the body mass itself is an indicator of the “power demand” experienced by the skier. 24. Applications of decision diagrams for low power synthesis
Sammanfattning : Power consumption is an important design constraint for circuits used in portable devices. In this thesis an analytic approach to minimize the power dissipation of Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) mapped digital circuits is presented. LÄS MER
25. Hydrogeophysics of Tropical Africa : Recent advances and perspectives
Sammanfattning : In the present work an attempt is made to put into perspective the hydrogeophysical investigations for rural water supply carried out over the last two decades in tropical Africa, paying special attention to groundwater targets in the weathered rocks in and above the crystalline basement. The applicability of geophysical techniques in groundwater investigations in tropical Africa, particularly the DC resistivity and electromagnetic techniques is discussed in the light of recent developments in instrumentation, data collection and interpretation procedures.
