  1. 1. Progression and Regression. Aspects of Advanced Swedish Students' Competence in English Grammar

    Författare :Monica Karlsson; Engelska; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Engelska språk och litteratur ; English language and literature; error gravity; proper noun; identification frame; genericness; the zero article; ‘idiomatic’ prepositional use; ‘systematic’ prepositional use; ‘basic’ prepositional use; non-contiguous subject-verb construction; contiguous subject-verb construction; subject-verb concord; fossilisation; restructuring of information; automatisation; interlanguage; cognitive second language acquisition theory; U-curve development; regression; progression; developmental pattern; relative frequency; error score; potential error; developmental continuum; advanced learner; Grammar; semantics; semiotics; syntax; Grammatik; semantik; semiotik; Applied linguistics; foreign languages teaching; sociolinguistics; Tillämpad lingvistik; undervisning i främmande språk; sociolingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates advanced Swedish students’ development of three grammatical phenomena: subject-verb concord, prepositions and article use in compositions and translations. In order to describe the students’ development of these categories, actual errors are related to potential errors forming so called ‘error scores’. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Adapting to increased automation in the aviation industry through performance measurement and training : Barriers and potential

    Författare :Johan Rignér; Lena Mårtensson; Pernilla Ulfvengren; Don Harris; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrial work science; Industriell arbetsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The increased use of automation has affected the work on the flight deck. The Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR), deployed with the purpose to increase the European ATM system performance, identifies automation as a key enabler to increase future system performance. The aviation system is a complex large socio-technical system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Numerical Methods for Molecular Dynamics with Nearly Crossing Potential Surfaces

    Författare :Ashraful Kadir; Anders Szepessy; Emanuel Rubensson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Numerical Methods; Molecular Dynamics; Nearly Crossing Potential Surfaces; Error Estimation; Adaptive Algorithm; Tillämpad matematik och beräkningsmatematik; Applied and Computational Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers that concern error estimates for the Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics, and adaptive algorithms for the Car-Parrinello and Ehrenfest molecular dynamics.In Paper I, we study error estimates for the Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics with nearly crossing potential surfaces. 4. 4. Language Modelling and Error Handling in Spoken Dialogue Systems

    Författare :Genevieve Gorrell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Language Modelling; Spoken Dialogue Systems; Error Handling; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Language modelling for speech recognition is an area of research currently divided between two main approaches: stochastic and grammar-based approaches are each being differently preferred for their respective strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, dialogue systems researchers are becoming aware of the potential value of handling recognition failures better to improve the user experience. LÄS MER
