1. Thermodynamic Modelling of Electrolyte Solutions with Application to the Pulp and Paper Industry
Sammanfattning : A thermodynamic model for electrolyte solutions has been derived for binary and multicomponent solutions up to very high molalities. The model was extensively tested on 163 binary aqueous electrolyte systems up to very high molalities, and the results show that the model represents mean ionic activity coefficients and osmotic coefficients very accurately. 2. Solvent–Solute Interaction : Studied by Synchrotron Radiation Based Photo and Auger Electron Spectroscopies
Sammanfattning : Aqueous solutions were studied using photoelectron and Auger spectroscopy, based on synchrotron radiation and a liquid micro-jet setup. By varying the photon energy in photoelectron spectra, we depth profiled an aqueous tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) solution. LÄS MER
3. Numerical modelling of biomass thermochemical conversion and potassium release
Sammanfattning : The use of biomass as a renewable source of energy has been increasing over the past few decades, and biomass is regarded as a promising replacement for fossil fuels. Thermochemical conversion of biomass is a common approach for biomass utilization with a relatively short conversion time. LÄS MER
4. Inorganic ions in wood chips- Leaching prior to Kraft pulping and effect of calcium on Kraft delignification
Sammanfattning : Wood is the main source of Non-Process Elements (NPEs), such as, calcium, potassium, manganese and chloride in Kraft pulp mills. Due to the recirculation of cooking chemicals and water, process disturbances related to the accumulation of NPEs in the process streams are inevitable. LÄS MER
5. Alkali-containing aerosol particles-release during biomass combustion and ambient air concentrations
Sammanfattning : Air pollution in the form of particles has considerable influence on human health and climate. Atmospheric aerosol particles arise from direct emissions of particles and from the conversion of certain gases to particles in the atmosphere. LÄS MER
