Sammanfattning : This dissertation in literary composition examines contemporary poetry and the writing of poetry understood as events of reading and relationality – as interpretative comprehension processes where relational subjectivities are conceived and set in motion. In an ”ebb and flow” between theory and practice, as well as between the situated experience of being a writing body and that body´s inscription in the performative and explorative process, it approaches core literary questions from the standpoint of a writer in practice. Sammanfattning : Many studies have shown that Second Language (L2) Medium of Instruction (MoI) policies in Africa are linked to educational inequity, substandard teaching practice, low literacy skills and poor overall academic performance. In the light of this background, this thesis aims to make a more thorough inquiry into questions related to language-in-education policies, L2 as MoI, and academic success in the Seychelles, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. 5. Trees of Knowledge : Science and the Shape of Genealogy
Sammanfattning : This study investigates early employments of family trees in the modern sciences, in order to historicise their iconic status and now established uses, notably in evolutionary biology and linguistics. Moving beyond disciplinary accounts to consider the wider cultural background, it examines how early uses within the sciences transformed family trees as a format of visual representation, as well as the meanings invested in them.
