  1. 1. Physiological- and Socio-Cultural Conditions for Performance in Women's Ice Hockey

    Författare :Tommy Henriksson; Kajsa Gilenstam; Anncristine Fjellman-Wiklund; Truls Raastad; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; women s ice hockey; female hockey players; positional characteristics; birth distribution; maturity status; exercise physiology; test methodology; sport; physiological characteristics; fysiologi; Physiology; gender studies; genusvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The ice hockey community is founded on masculine norms and values, and the hockey rink is often described as “the home of men’s ice hockey”. Despite a growing popularity, women’s ice hockey has low priority in comparison to the men’s game. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Obstructive sleep apnea : General characteristics in hypertensive patients, positional sensitivity, and upper airway sensory neuropathy

    Författare :Ola Sunnergren; Eva Svanborg; Anders Broström; Jan Hedner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a highly prevalent disorder, especially in populations with cardiovascular disease. Unfortunately most cases with OSA remain undiagnosed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Controlling the dynamic characteristics of machining systems through consciously designed joint interfaces

    Författare :Constantinos Frangoudis; Cornel Mihai Nicolescu; Amir Rashid; Bulent Tasdelent; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Production; machine tool; machining system control; joint interfaces; JIM; stiffness; damping; vibrations; machining process; milling; turning; deflections; accuracy; dynamic response;

    Sammanfattning : The precision of machining systems is ever increasing in order to keep up with components’ accuracy requirements. At the same time product variants areincreasing and order quantities are decreasing, which introduces high demands on the capability of machining systems. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Remote Sensing and Gis for Groundwater Assessment in Hard Rock Areas. Applications to Water Well Siting in Ghana and Botswana

    Författare :Per Sander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; probabilistic approach; GIS; remote sensing; Ghana; hard rock; Botswana; groundwater assessment; lineaments;

    Sammanfattning : Different types of remote sensing data have been evaluated in this thesis with respect to their potential use in groundwater assessment in hard rock areas. The primary objectives of the study have been (1) to evaluate the interpretation of groundwater indicators from high resolution satellite images and aerial photography and (2) to investigate how remote sensing interpretations subsequently can be integrated with other pertinent data, as a decision support in water well siting under difficult hydrogeological conditions. 5. 5. Fall-Related Hip Fracture : Predisposing and Precipitating Factors

    Författare :Breiffni Leavy; Liisa Byberg; Anna Cristina Åberg; Michaëlsson Karl; Melhus Håkan; Ann Bremander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Co-existing disease; Epidemiology; Fall circumstances; Hip fracture; In-depth interviews; Mixed methods; Physical activity perceptions; Psychotropic drugs; Qualitative; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi; Epidemiologi; Epidemiology; Geriatrics; Geriatrik; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : A physically inactive lifestyle is a predisposing risk factor for fall-related hip fracture. The circumstances, or precipitating factors, surrounding hip fractures are, however, not well understood, a factor of relevance for Swedish adults who have one of the highest hip fracture risks in the world.
