1. Design of Product-Service Systems in SMEs : Exploring challenges and the influence of firm characteristics
Sammanfattning : The manufacturing industry is essential in the transition towards a Circular Economy and a more sustainable society. One way manufacturing companies can become more sustainable and contribute to a resource-efficient society is by offering Product-Service Systems (PSS). LÄS MER
2. Capacity Pooling in Healthcare Systems
Sammanfattning : Healthcare systems are facing a continuously increasing demand for care while healthcare providers express a need for additional capacity. However, increased capacity in healthcare systems will not be a sufficient option in the near future, and previous research has found a need to improve healthcare capacity planning and management. 3. Engineering Competitive and Query-Optimal Minimal-Adaptive Randomized Group Testing Strategies
Sammanfattning : Suppose that given is a collection of $n$ elements where $d$ of them are \emph{defective}. We can query an arbitrarily chosen subset of elements which returns Yes if the subset contains at least one defective and No if the subset is free of defectives. The problem of group testing is to identify the defectives with a minimum number of such queries. LÄS MER
4. Pooling Data from Similar Randomized Clinical Trials Comparing Latanoprost with Timolol; Medical Results and Statistical Aspects
Sammanfattning : Two different principles were studied. 1st - statistical analysis techniques were used to obtain medical results from a patient population. 2nd - the patient population was used to study the statistical analysis techniques. LÄS MER
5. Design and Control of Integrated Continuous Processes for the Purification of Biopharmaceuticals
Sammanfattning : The production of biopharmaceuticals so far has been based on batch processes that are robust and well-known, but very inefficient and inflexible, causing the products to be very expensive and process development to be slow and costly. The production of biopharmaceuticals is thus changing towards integrated continuous biomanufacturing (ICB) in order to reduce costs and increase flexibility in a constantly changing market. LÄS MER
