Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the polyphonic and argumentative functions of the French negation marker, ne, in editorial texts from the daily press. The concept ‘polyphony’ relates to the presence of multiple voices within one and the same utterance. According to this view, negation triggers a subdivision of an utterance in two points of view. Sammanfattning : What are the linguistic characteristics of French newspapers headlines? Employing three aspects of linguistic analysis (syntax, pragmatics and stylistics), the present thesis describes and analyses the textual "genre" of the headline. The author regards a newspaper headline as an autonomous text which carries various functions within the newspaper's discourse and therefore has specific features as regards language use. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : During recent decades, there has been a trend among biblical scholars towards applying methods borrowed from literary studies to the familiar texts of the Old and New Testaments. A major reason for this reorientation is the search for a meaningful and interpretable text; hence, it can be seen as a protest against the historical-critical school and its ambition to reconstruct an authentic text by means of a diachronic analysis.
