Sammanfattning : Polymyositis and dermatomyositis are rare disease entities affecting skeletal muscle and other organs such as the lungs. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is increasingly recognized as a serious complication of poly-/dermatomyositis. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Polymyositis and dermatomyositis are chronic, inflammatory disorders characterized by muscle weakness, low muscle endurance and by inflammation in skeletal muscle tissues. The pathogenesis is not completely understood and several mechanisms are believed to be involved. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM) are chronic idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) which are clinically characterized by symmetrical proximal muscle weakness, fatigue, myalgia and extra- muscular involvement. Muscle impairment is the most significant feature of PM and DM with characteristic infiltrates of mononuclear inflammatory cells in muscle biopsies, elevated inflammatory parameters in serum and characteristic EMG changes, which separate these disorders from neurologic disorders and also fibromyalgia. 4. Hand function, activity limitation and health-related quality of life in patients with polymyositis and dermatomyositis
Sammanfattning : Background: Polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM) are rare idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. Common clinical features are proximal muscle weakness and reduced muscle endurance, which can lead to activity limitation and reduced healthrelated quality of life (HRQoL). LÄS MER
5. Studies of immunopathogenic mechanisms and treatment of chronic, inflammatory myopathies, myositis
Sammanfattning : p>Polymyosit (PM), dermatomyositis (DM) and sporadic inclusion body myositis (sIBM) are chronic inflammatory myopathies which are characterized by muscle weakness, fatigue and extra-muscular involvement. Mononuclear inflammatory cells are typically found in muscle tissue. LÄS MER
