1. Additive-Driven Improvements in Interfacial Properties and Processing of TMP-Polymer Composites
Sammanfattning : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 2. Functional PVC Additives : Core-Shell Nanoparticle and Renewable Resource Plasticizers
Sammanfattning : Several functional poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) additives were designed: PVC plasticizers made from renewable resources as alternatives to traditional phthalate plasticizers and core-shell nanoparticle-plasticizers with the aim to design an additive that can improve several mechanical properties simultaneously. 3. Amphiphilic Polymers as Additives in Biomedical Polyurethanes. Surface Properties and Morphology
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to achieve surface modification of two biomedical polyurethanes and one poly(urethane urea) through the addition of small amounts of amphiphilic copolymers in solution. The matrix polymers used were the poly(ether urethane)s Pellethane 2363-80AE (P80) and 2363-75D (P75) and a poly(ether urethane urea) similar to Biomer (PUUR). LÄS MER
