  1. 1. Minimally invasive hernia surgery

    Författare :Sven Bringman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Inguinal hernia; minimally invasive; laparoscopic; TEP; TAPP; Lichtenstein; Meshplug; tension-free; mesh; balloon; rehabilitation; Swedish Hernia Register; learning curve; complications; intestinal obstruction; polypropylene; polyglactin.;

    Sammanfattning : Minimally invasive laparoscopic and open tension-free techniques have been evolved during the 1990's. Different laparoscopic techniques have been used, where the totally extraperitoneal hernioplasty (TEP) is a technically demanding but probably a better approach to minimally invasive hernia surgery than the transabdominal preperitoneal technique (TAPP), which may increase the risk of adhesions and postoperative intestinal obstruction. 2. 2. The changing path of inguinal hernia surgery

    Författare :Fritz H Berndsen; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; orthopaedics; traumatology; Surgery; spermatic cord; recurrence rate; complications; bilaterality; mesh; laparoscopy; randomised multicenter trial; Inguinal hernia; groin hernia; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Inguinal hernia repair is the most common operation in general surgery and the main challenge has been to lower the recurrence rate. With the introduction of endoscopic repair in the beginning of the 1990´s, the demand for randomised controlled studies has increased resulting in a growing interest in this surgical field. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Outcome and prevention strategies in peritoneal adhesion formation

    Författare :Fanny Fredriksson; Helene Lilja; Bobby Tingstedt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; peritoneal adhesion prevention; inflammatory cytokines; experimental adhesion model; adhesive small bowel obstruction; adhesion-related morbidity; Barnkirurgi; Pediatric Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Peritoneal adhesions occur in up to 93% of adults after peritoneal trauma during surgery. Most adhesions are asymptomatic but can cause female infertility, small bowel obstruction (SBO) and chronic abdominal pain. Adhesion prophylaxis is needed to reduce the significant morbidity and increased health care costs resulting from peritoneal adhesions. LÄS MER
