  1. 11. Quantifying pollutant spreading and the risk of water pollution in hydrological catchments : A solute travel time-based scenario approach

    Författare :Klas Persson; Georgia Destouni; Aldo Fiori; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; water pollution; catchment; pollution risk; scenario analysis; uncertainty; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : The research presented in the thesis develops an approach for the estimation and mapping of pollutant spreading in catchments and the associated uncertainty and risk of pollution. The first step in the approach is the quantification and mapping of statistical and geographical distributions of advective solute travel times from pollutant input locations to downstream recipients. 2. 12. Causes and Consequences of Early-life Conditions : Alcohol, Pollution and Parental Leave Policies

    Författare :Jenny Jans; J. Peter Nilsson; Per Johansson; Arizo Karimi; Matthew Neidell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Air pollution; alcohol availability; parental leave policies; health; educational attainment; earnings; time investments; child outcomes; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Essay I: This paper studies the effect of air pollution on infant health in Sweden. Combining register panel data on birth outcomes and family characteristics with pollution data, I estimate the effect of particulate matter (PM10) on several birth outcomes that previously have been shown to be predictive of future outcomes.     Nyckelord :Particles; Source-receptor modeling; PMF; Elemental source profiles; Levoglucosan; Wood combustion; Air pollution; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Particles released to the atmosphere from anthropogenic sources affect the Earth’s climate as well as the health of the population. Anthropogenic sources of atmospheric particles are e.g. the combustion of biomass and fossil fuels, road, brake and tire wear and various industrial activities. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Virtual Mobility and Pollution Prevention - The Emerging Role of ICT Based Communication in Organisations and its Impact on Travel
