11. Flamelet modelling of soot formation in diffusion flames
Sammanfattning : In this work the steady and unsteady flamelet models have been applied to soot formation in laminar and turbulent diffusion flames. The aim was to study how different model parameters affect soot formation in diffusion flames. It was shown that certain assumptions are more crucial in laminar diffusion flames than in turbulent ones. LÄS MER
12. Control of vehicle platoons and traffic dynamics : catch-up coordination and congestion dissipation
Sammanfattning : Traffic congestion is a constantly growing problem, with a wide array ofnegative effects on the society, from wasted time and productivity to elevated air pollution and increased number of accidents. Classical traffic control methods have long been successfully employed to alleviate congestion, improving the traffic situation of many cities and highways. LÄS MER
13. Embedded Systems and FPGAs for Implementation of Control Oriented Models, Applied to Combustion Engines
Sammanfattning : Performance demands put on combustion engines are ever increasing, e.g. demands on emissions and fuel consumption. The increased demands together with new combustion concepts increase the need for feedback engine and combustion control. LÄS MER
14. Virtual Mobility and Pollution Prevention - The Emerging Role of ICT Based Communication in Organisations and its Impact on Travel
Sammanfattning : Information and Communication Technologies change the way we work and communicate, enabling us to telework and to have virtual meetings - collaborating without a physical meeting. This can influence the need for commuting and business travel by provision of access to an activity without mobility - virtual mobility. LÄS MER
15. Mitigating Microplastics Pollution in Urban Water Systems : Flow, actors, and control measures
Sammanfattning : Water pollution has long been considered a challenge in urban areas. Urban wastewater and stormwater act as transport pathways for pollutants from urban areas to receiving waters. Microplastics are a pollution problem of growing concern. LÄS MER
