  1. 16. Free Volume Depth Profiling at Polymer Surfaces and Interfaces

    Författare :John Algers; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biopolymers; Polymerteknik; Polymer technology; polymer interfaces; polymer surfaces; positron lifetime; free volume;

    Sammanfattning : Pulsed low energy positron beams provide a unique and non-destructive tool to depth probe the free volume of polymers at surfaces and interfaces. Since the employment of low energy positron beams in polymer research is an emerging technique, some focus in this thesis has been on extracting methods and equations needed to interpret the experimental data. 2. 17. Spectroscopic studies of solvation and adsorption properties of PVP

    Författare :Ildikó Száraz; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry of Interfaces; Gränsytors kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The adsorption mechanism of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (VP), poly(1-vinyl-2- pyrrolidone) (PVP) and azelaic acid on synthetic gamma-aluminium oxide surfaces was investigated using FT-IR, FT-Raman, UV, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. (Liquid-solid state) As a first step the solvation of VP and PVP in solvents of varying polarity, specifically water, ethylene glycol (EG), chloroform and carbon tetrachloride, was studied. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Exploration of Graphene-like 2D Materials for Energy Management and Interface Enhancement Applications

    Författare :Ya Liu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Industrial Application; Graphene-like 2D materials; Interface Enhancement; Energy Management;

    Sammanfattning : Ever since the discovery of graphene in 2004, graphene-like 2D materials and their derivatives have attracted extensive investigations because of their exceptional physical and chemical properties. At present, the study of graphene-like 2D materials is at a stage where most of their outstanding physical and chemical properties have been discovered, but the technology for incorporating them into practical commercial products is rarely revealed.
