   Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines the works of the Irish poet Medbh McGuckian (1950-), from her first major collection The Flower Master (1982) to The Book of the Angel (2004). The central thesis of this study is that McGuckian’s poetry dramatises the relationship between the self and the other as a dialogue between what is beyond the immediate grasp of the self, on the one hand, and the interpretive activity of the self, on the other, a process I term the hermeneutics of otherness.    Sammanfattning : This thesis contains three major portions of the early Latin poetry of the theologian Sylvester Johannis Phrygius (1572–1628), one of the most pro-lific and important Swedish poets at the turn of the 17th century.The verses exhibit marked influence from the Protestant Universities of Northern Germany at which Phrygius had studied.    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to disclose the oeuvre of the German-Romanian Holocaust survivor Paul Celan as a site of problematic yet productive encounters between poetry and music. It addresses, on the one hand, music as a thematic and structural element in Celan’s poetry and, on the other hand, contemporary musical works interacting with this poetry. LÄS MER
