  1. 1. The muscle cytoskeleton of mice and men : Structural remodelling in desmin myopathies

    Författare :Lena Carlsson; Lars-Eric Thornell; Anders Arnér; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; desmin; nestin; synemin; paranemin; plectin; αB-crystallin; skeletal muscle; heart muscle; myotendinous junction; motor endplate; costamere; anatomi; Human Anatomy;

    Sammanfattning : The muscle fibre cytoskeleton of skeletal and heart muscle cells is composed mainly of intermediate filaments (IFs), that surround the myofibrils and connect the peripheral myofibrils with the sarcolemma and the nuclear membrane. Desmin is the first muscle specific IF protein to be produced in developing muscles and is the main IF protein in mature muscles. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Molecular analysis of the FET family fusion oncoprotein FUS-DDIT3

    Författare :Christer Thomsen; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; FUS-DDIT3; FUS; EWS; TAF15; DDIT3; myxoid liposarcoma; plectin; SWI SNF;

    Sammanfattning : Chromosomal translocations leading to formation of tumor type specific fusion oncogenes are frequently found in human cancers. The FET family genes (FUS, EWSR1 and TAF15) occur in translocations with genes encoding various transcription factors in sarcomas and leukemias. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genetic studies of zebrafish muscles : clues to protection in muscle disease

    Författare :Nils Dennhag; Fatima Pedrosa Domellöf; Jonas von Hofsten; Tatjana Haitina; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; zebrafish; muscle; extraocular muscles; intermediate filaments; bioinformatics; genetics; CRISPR Cas9; oftalmiatrik; ophthalmology; cellforskning; cell research;

    Sammanfattning : Muscular dystrophies (MDs) are caused by dysregulation of over 40 proteins but commonly share features of muscle weakness, myofiber death and regeneration, loss of ambulation and premature death. A MD involves a broken link anywhere in the connection from extracellular matrix through the sarcolemma to the sarcomere. LÄS MER
