    Sammanfattning : Background In the event of an acute coronary syndrome (ACS), the risk of death and complications such as stroke and re-infarction is high during the first month. Diabetes, impaired kidney function, elevated markers of systemic inflammation and high level of platelet reactivity have all been associated with worsened prognosis in ACS patients. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Background: Dual antiplatelet therapy with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and the adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-receptor antagonist ticagrelor increases the risk of bleeding complications during cardiac surgery. A disadvantage with this treatment is increased risk of bleeding.     Sammanfattning : Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with increased cardiovascular mortality and morbidity, due to diabetic angiopathy. Hyperglycaemia is one of the factors that may cause platelet dysfunction in diabetic patients.
