6. On Ingeae Systematics of synandrous mimosoids
Sammanfattning : Background: The Ingeae tribe (Caesalpiniodeae, Fabaceae) has a long history of taxonomic complexity with genera being merged and split, and many species with former placements in several different genera. Moreover, phylogenetic studies have shown that the tribe is non-monophyletic with the genus Acacia (of tribe Acacieae) nested within Ingeae. LÄS MER
7. Phylogenetic Support and Chloroplast Genome Evolution in Sileneae (Caryophyllaceae)
Sammanfattning : Evolutionary biology is dependent on accurate phylogenies. In this thesis two branch support methods, Bayesian posterior probablities and bootstrap frequencies, were evaluated with simulated data and empirical data from the chloroplast genome. LÄS MER
8. Phylogeny and Taxonomy of Subfamily Zygophylloideae (Zygophyllaceae) with Special Reference to the Genus Fagonia
Sammanfattning : Members of Zygophylloideae are shrubs, shrublets and herbs of arid and semiarid areas of almost all continents, and many of the species are major components of the vegetation in their areas of distribution. A phylogenetic analysis of Zygophylloideae based on noncoding trnL plastid DNA sequences and morphological data, indicates that the currently recognised genera Augea, Tetraena, and Fagonia, are embedded in Zygophyllum. 9. Systematics in Sileneae (Caryophyllaceae) – Taxonomy and Phylogenetic patterns
Sammanfattning : The focus for the first part of the thesis is on the systematics of species belonging to Silene subgenus Silene. Phylogenetic relationships are inferred from DNA sequences from both the plastid (the rps16 intron) and the nuclear (ITS, intron of the RPB2 gene) genomes. LÄS MER
10. Phylogeny and classification of the tribe Vanguerieae (Rubiaceae)
Sammanfattning : Vanguerieae is a tribe in the mainly tropical angiosperm family Rubiaceae. The tribe currently comprises around 600 species in 27 genera, with the major part of the species distributed in Africa south of the Sahara. The phylogeny of the tribe was investigated using both molecular and morphological data. LÄS MER
