  2. 2. Long-term Performance of PVC and CSPE Cables used in Nuclear Power Plants : the Effect of Degradation and Plasticizer migration

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Maria Ekelund; KTH.; [2009]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PCV; CSPE; cables; ageing; mechanical properties; plasticizer migratio; LIRA; life time prediction; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Enormous amounts of low voltage cables installed in a Swedish nuclear power plant are reaching their expected lifetimes. Since the cables are crucial to operational safety, it is of great importance that the actual condition of the installed cables is determined. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Long-term performance of poly(vinyl chloride) cables : mechanical and electrical performances and the effect of plasticizer migration

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Maria Ekelund; KTH.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Poly vinyl chloride cables; ageing; mechanical properties; plasticizer migration; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry Polymer chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Cables insulated with plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) were aged at temperatures between 80 and 180 °C in air and their conditions were assessed by indenter modulus measurements, tensile testing, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC). Electrical testing of oven-aged cable samples was performed in order to relate the electrical functionality during a high-energy line break accident to the mechanical properties and to establish a lifetime criterion. 4. 4. Green plasticizers for PVC - An investigation of renewable alternatives to phthalates derived from vegetable oils or wood industry products

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Anna Bondeson; [2013]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PVC; Epoxidized vegetable oils; Crosslinking; Plasticizer; Heat ageing; Lignin.; Tall oil fatty acid;

    Sammanfattning : Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a very versatile thermoplastic because of its ability to solve a broad range of different concentrations of plasticizer. Phthalates are still the most commonly used plasticizer in PVC, but due to public opinion and legislation against phthalates there is a demand in the market for both old and new phthalate free plasticizersProperties of epoxidized oils of soybean (ESBO), canola (ECO), sunflower (ESFO) and safflower (ESAO) were investigated to determine their suitability as plasticizers. 5. 5. Poly (butylene succinate) and poly (butylene adipate) quantitative determination of degradation products and application as PVC plasticizers

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Annika Lindström; KTH.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; solid phase extraction; degradation products; poly butylene succinate ; poly butylene adipate ; GC-MS; PVC; plasticizer; Biokemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : A solid phase extraction (SPE) method was developed for simultaneous extraction of dicarboxylic acids and diols formed during hydrolysis of poly(butylene succinate), PBS, and poly(butylene adipate), PBA. The developed SPE method and subsequent GC-MS analysis were used to extract, identify and quantify low molecular weight products migrating from linear and branched poly(butylene adipate) (PBA) and poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) during aging in aqueous media.
