  1. 1. The Metallurgical Aspects of Machinability in Prehardened Mould Steels

    Författare :Seyyed Mohammad Hamed Hoseiny; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bainitic structure; Tool Life; Cutting Temperature; Cutting Force; Machinability; Microstructure; Tempered Martensite; Plastic Mould Steels;

    Sammanfattning : High economical efficiency obtained by utilizing prehardened mould steels in plastic mould making has increased the usage of these types of steels to a great extent. Generally, prehardened mould steels are applied for large moulds and moulds for moderate production runs, and one of the advantages of using this type of steel is that no heat treatment is necessary for putting the mould in use. 2. 2. Influence of Microstructure on the Machinability of Prehardened Mould Steels

    Författare :Seyyed Mohammad Hamed Hoseiny; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Prehardened mould steels; Milling; Drilling; Turning; Tool life; Machinability;

    Sammanfattning : Mould steels are mainly employed in moulding of plastic products, and also some metals withlow melting temperature such as magnesium alloys. The ever-growing usage of plastics in theindustry, especially the automotive industry, and in everyday life, has increased the utilizationof mould steels. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On Polishability of Tool Steels

    Författare :Sabina Rebeggiani; Bengt-Göran Rosén; Liam Blunt; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tool steels; polishability; surface characterisation; surface texture parameters; high gloss polishing; injection moulding;

    Sammanfattning : One of the world’s fastest growing industries is the plastic industry. Today’s ever increasing demands of high quality products, shorter lead times and reduced costs push development and research forwards. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Polishability of tool steels : Characterisation of high gloss polished tool steels

    Författare :Sabina Rebeggiani; Olaf Dambon; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tool steels; surface characterisation; polishability; 3D parameters; high gloss polishing; Surface engineering; Ytbehandlingsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The manufacturing of plastic components, like a majority of other mass produced discrete parts, require well designed dies and moulds. Complex geometries and increasing demands on final surface appearance, which is strongly connected to the quality impression, are pushing for high demands on mould-makers and polishers as well as steel producers. 5. 5. Appearance characterisation of textured polymeric surfaces

    Författare :Ingrid Arino; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; appearance; reflectance; polymer; colour; surface texture; gloss;

    Sammanfattning : Appearance demands for industrial products are generally increasing since they are closely related to the overall quality impression. Consequently, there is a need to define appearance through its main descriptors, which are gloss, colour and surface texture, as well as the relations between them. LÄS MER
