1. Proteoglycans, group IIA phospholipase A2, and lipoproteins.Potential involvement in atherogenesis
Sammanfattning : Atherosclerosis is a multifactorial complex disease characterized by a focal accumulation of ApoB-100 containing lipoproteins, extracellular matrix (ECM), and cells in the arterial intima accompanied by an inflammatory reaction. In vivo and in vitro data supports the hypothesis that sulfated extracellular proteoglycans may be responsible for the selective retention of low density lipoproteins (LDL) in the arterial wall. 2. Interaction of Triglyceride-rich Lipoproteins with Platelets and Vitamin K-dependent Coagulation Factors
Sammanfattning : 1. During incubation of platelets with 3H-arachidonic acid (20:4, n-6) and 14C-cholesterol doubly labelled and colloidal gold labelled chylomicrons (CMs) and chylomicron remnants (CMRs) CMs were taken up more efficiently than CMRs. Addition of unlabelled CMs, VLDLs, LDLs and HDLs decreased the uptake of labelled CMs. LÄS MER
3. Effects of ARF1 and phospholipase D on the assembly and secretion of apoB-100 containing lipoproteins
Sammanfattning : Hydrophobic insoluble lipids such as triglycerides and cholesterol ester are transported in spherical, water-soluble molecular complexes called lipoproteins. Lipoproteins are secreted mainly from the liver and intestine into the plasma for distribution to peripheral tissues. LÄS MER
4. Sources of Arachidonic Acid in Platelets, Bone, Marrow and Gastrointestinal Tract
Sammanfattning : This study investigates pathways by which the eicosanoid precursor pools in the platelets, bone marrow and the gastrointestinal (GI) mucosa are acquired and regulated, and in this context some aspects on the interaction between triglyceride (TG)-rich lipoproteins and platelets. 1. 5. A Healthy Nordic Diet and Cardiometabolic Risk Factors : Intervention Studies with Special Emphasis on Plasma Lipoproteins
Sammanfattning : A healthy diet is important in the prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Several risk factors, modifiable by diet, are involved in the development of CVD, e.g. hyperlipidaemia, hyperglycaemia, insulin resistance, obesity and hypertension. LÄS MER
