  1. 11. Alkylglycoside Surfactants - Self-Assembly, Solid-State Properties and Interactions with Hydrophobic Molecules

    Författare :Caroline Ericsson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; peptide stabilisation; solubilisation; micelle morphology; solid-state behaviour; alkylglycosides; nonionic surfactants;

    Sammanfattning : A thorough physical-chemical characterisation of alkylglycosides has been performed. The effects of temperature, salt, concentration and deuterium exchange on the self-aggregation of n-nonyl-b-D-glucoside (b-C9G1) and n-tetradecyl-b-D-maltoside (b-C14G2) have been studied in dilute solutions by static and dynamic light scattering, neutron scattering, rheology, capillary viscometry and tensiometry.     Nyckelord :Zinc oxide; aqueous chemical synthesis; nanostructures; light emitting diode; electrochemical biosensor.; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an inorganic compound, owing to wide band gap and large binding energy, and holds promising potential in the fields of semiconducting as well as piezoelectric applications with excellent stability and reliability. In addition, ZnO has a plenteous number of nanoscale structures containing unique physical, chemical, electrical, sensing and optical properties. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Engineering 3D degradable pliable scaffolds for adipose tissue regeneration : Advancing cell-material interactions by understanding the influence from thermal, chemical, mechanical properties and scaffold design

    Författare :Shubham Jain; Anna Finne-Wistrand; Kamal Mustafa; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lauren Flynn; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Degradable polymers; 3D scaffolds; adipose tissue regeneration; cell-material interaction; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : In soft tissue defects that arise due to trauma, tumor resections and complex burns, a significant loss in adipose tissue remains a considerable challenge due to the insufficient regenerative capacity of the tissue. This thesis focuses on assessing cell-material interactions between degradable 3D polymer scaffolds with different designs and adipose tissue-derived stem cells. LÄS MER
